Mission statement

The Mission of the Blackfeet Employment Program is to provide activities that increase employability through education, training, case management, advocacy, and support services to the general public and those with disabilities living within, near the Blackfeet Reservation.

The main objectives are to:

  1. Increase Occupational Skill Attainment
  2. Improve the quality of the workforce.
  3. Reduce welfare dependency
  4. Enhance productivity and competitiveness of the Blackfeet Nations Economy
  5. Secure a degree of self sufficiency – which means individuals personal requirement for health, well being, and quality of life.

While the program of services are directed towards employment, it is recognized that what represents a comfortable standard of living is not the same as everyone.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Employment Program at Blackfeet Manpower One Stop Center Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled member or descendant of a federally recognized tribe
  • Be a veteran or be registered with selective service 
  • Be unemployed or low income (bonafide layoff notice)
  • Register with job service (Tuesday or Wednesday from 1pm to 3 pm)
  • Complete either Job Readiness Training or the Fatherhood/Motherhood Training 
  • Complete the skills bank application (included in application)
